The art of living in fullness is found in connecting, with all of creation and its Creator. It’s a relationship of giving and receiving. This sense of belonging often comes in our connection to others, but sometimes it’s a memory of a special moment or a special place. There are other times when “Creation” actually reaches out and connects with us. It brings us the hope of comfort and peace, in the midst of uncertainty and the brokenness around us. It comes in the quiet of a field of flowers. It speaks to us in the roar of a crashing wave.
My art is aimed at bringing a sense of connection. I find inspiration in settings that speak of comfort and peace, wonder and beauty. I’m drawn to the mysteries of water with its reflections and reactive movement. I love how nature shows off by sprinkling a vast array of vibrant colors in simple wild flowers, distant hills and sunsets. Oil panting is to me a “happy place”. While I dabble in acrylic paint from time to time, oils feel like home.
Art, whether we are creating it or appreciating it, can be a tool to express who we are and find sameness with others. It exposes our heart and makes us vulnerable, challenging us to become strong enough to share ourselves.

Artist Statement
I see our lives as a work of art. Just think of the relationships we mold, the memories we create, the gratefulness we gather and the wonders we behold. These are the elements that shape the picture of a life well lived. My desire is to capture the beauty of life’s journey, taking what is often just a moment in time and extending its life onto a canvas. Realism is my passion and primary focus as an artist. I paint with oils, because they are deep and forgiving and not to be hurried; I like to think they are a little like me.
